The Becker Real-Time Resource Location
Solutions typically integrates a backbone (Leaky
Feeder, Fiber, Copper or Wi-Fi) with stationary
readers in order to locate tagged resources in
real time. Depending on the chosen backbone,
the readers may vary from fixed point
to movable mobile units and for added
redundancy and system integrity most
mines split the readers on more than one
backbone.
Different antenna types can also be used to
satisfy the many detection restrictions faced
within a typical mine layout. The Becker devices
used within the Real Time Resource Location
Solutions are practically and functionally
appropriate for underground mining processes.
This was established through innovative design
and experience gathered of many years of mine
solutions implementation.
Becker’s fourth generation Tag Reader has a build
in non-volatile 1000 event tag buffer that will keep
decoding any tag within its detection zone in an
off-line scenario. It is imperative that the power
source to the Tag Reader is operational at this
time. Upon the restoration of the backbone all realtime
information stored will be sent to the system
software for resource event
logging and / or interrogation.
The unit is housed in an
IP68 enclosure and come in
Intrinsically Safe as well as
Non Intrinsically Safe versions.
Becker offers an array of
different personnel, beacon
and vehicle transponder tags.
All our transponder tags have
its own unique identification
number that it transmits
along with its battery status on a customisable
transmission rate. We also utilise pseudo random
transmission protocols to ensure the least amount
of tag collisions.
TCT0 TRANSPONDER TAG
The TCT0 personnel transponder
tag is our simplest transmit only tag
that is mostly used in deployments
where the user is only looking at
tagging & tracking of resources
with no need to upgrade the
system to other Becker solutions.
TCT1 TRANSPONDER TAG
The TCT1 personnel
transponder tag is a single
technology transceiver
(transmit and receive) tag
and is used for tagging &
tracking as well as remote evacuation signalling
to personnel in the case of an emergency via a
Becker Leaky Feeder System.
TCT3 TRANSPONDER
TAG
The TCT3 personnel
transponder tag is a tritechnology
tag (UHF,
Electro Magnetic &
Radar) that is used for
tagging & tracking as well as
full collision avoidance whereby
a machine can be forced to a
complete stop.
TVT0 TRANSPONDER TAG
The TVT0 vehicle transponder
tag is a single technology,
transmit only tag that is used
for tagging & tracking as well
as decline information and
control of traffic within a mine.
This system is based on priority and a strong mine
specific control philosophy.
PANTHA SOFTWARE SUITE
The PANTHA Software Suite is the evolution of the
original CATS standalone application, consisting
of applications that bind various Becker Systems
together such as:
• Tagging & Tracking
• Leaky Feeder Diagnostics (RBDA)
• Remote Evacuation Signaling (RESS)
• Collision Avoidance (CAS)
• Wireless Router (WRAP)
• Decline Traffic Information & Control (DTIS)
